PERSIAN TILE

This tile, on the wall to the right of the ceremonial entry doors, is a replica of an eight‐pointed star tile found under the rose window over the main door of the Church of St Simon the Zealot in Shiraz; it can also be seen in St Luke's in Isfahan .In its centre can be found the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, surrounded by eight of His titles, which have been selected as well for their meaning as for their assonance and symmetry. Reading from the top, clockwise, the titles are:
The Builder: "God hath spoken unto us by His Son by whomalso He made the world." (Heb. 1.2)
The Sublime: "God hath given Him a Name that is above every name." (Phil. ii.9)
The Forgiver: "The Son of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins." (Matt. ix.6)
The Guide: "He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness." (John viii. 12)
The Deity: "I and My Father are One." (John x.30)
The Redeemer: "The Son of Man came to give His life as a ransom for many." (Matt. xx.28)
The Healer: "I will come and heal him." (Matt. viii.7)
The Protector: "I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand." (John x.28
