Restoration & Conservation
In 2001, concerned initially by falling masonry from the southern spires, the St Paul’s Chapter initiated a programme to conserve and improve the physical infrastructure of the Cathedral precinct for ministry, witness, and ministry support.
The main focus of the program has been directed towards to the fabric of the Cathedral itself, with additional work being done on the adjoining Cathedral Buildings. All work has been undertaken in consultation with, and approval by, Heritage Victoria.
The Restoration & Renewal Appeal was launched with a target of $20m - $15m for conservation and restoration and $5m for new works. It has been a wonderfully successful Appeal with $16.7m raised.
This beautiful Cathedral is in constant need of conservation. In conjunction with the National Trust of Australia (Vic) we encourage you to make your tax deductible donation on the attached form. All donations gratefully received.
